
Born in 1952, Xu Zhong’ou is an artist andeducator, Professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, former Dean of itsSchool of Urban Design, and Vice President of the China Printmaking Institute.He currently serves as Dean of the Pan Tianshou College of Art and Design,Ningbo University.
Since the 1980s, Xu has focused his work on printmaking, developing hisrenowned series "In the Name of Walnut," which transforms naturalforms into philosophical symbols that explore the harmony between nature andspirit. His works are in significant collections, including the British Museumand the British Woodblock Foundation.
He was a Visiting Professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art in2004, honored as an “Honorary Citizen of Baltimore.” In 2005, he created a portrait of former U.S. President George H. W.Bush, now housed in the Bush Presidential Library. Recipient of the SilverPrize at the National Art Exhibition, the Lu Xun Printmaking Award, and theInternational Print Biennale Prize in Poland.

自20世纪80年代起,徐仲偶以版画为核心媒介,持续发展代表系列《以核桃的名义》,将自然符号转化为哲思性的艺术母题,探索自然与精神的共生关系。作品被大英博物馆、英国木板基金会等收藏。
2004年受邀为美国马里兰艺术学院客座教授,并获巴尔的摩市终身荣誉市民称号;2005年为美国前总统乔治·布什创作肖像,收藏于布什总统图书馆。曾获全国美展银奖、鲁迅版画奖及波兰国际版画双年展奖。
