Contemporary artist and musician. Moving to New York in 1987, Shibecame one of the first Chinese artists to enter the contemporary art circlesof New York and Europe. His abstract painting, An Ancient Love Story, is in thecollection of the Grimm Museum in Germany. In 2010, Shi developed his originalvisual language, Stonecubes, rooted in the brushwork of Chinese calligraphy,which merges the spiritual depth of Eastern philosophy with the structural andchromatic logic of Western oil painting into a coherent system of energy.Regarded as a foundational language of contemporary art, Stonecubes returnspainting to the origin of energy, transcending cultural and media boundarieswhile redefining the relationship between image and consciousness. Shi’s worksare in the collection of ICBC New York and have been featured by SMG, CCTV, andSinoVision. His original Flow Music has been performed at the Guggenheim Museumand has received multiple awards at international film festivals.
