
Born in China in 1987, Fang Xu graduated from the Sculpture Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2013. He currently lives and works in Princeton and Beijing. Fang is a prominent sculptor in the Chinese contemporary art scene, whose works merge the structural rigor of Cubism with the expressive intensity of Expressionism, forming a distinctive artistic language he defines as Linear Cubism.
He has received multiple national sculpture awards, and his works are in the collections of the German-Chinese Young Artists Development Fund, the Changchun Art Museum, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Several of his major pieces were selected for the “Star Project – Young Contemporary Artists Exhibition” and have toured internationally.
