Born in China in 1987, Fang Xu graduated from the Sculpture Departmentof Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2013. He currently lives and works inPrinceton and Beijing. Fang is a prominent sculptor in the Chinese contemporaryart scene, whose works merge the structural rigor of Cubism with the expressiveintensity of Expressionism, forming a distinctive artistic language he definesas Linear Cubism.

He has received multiple national sculpture awards, and his works are in the collections of the German-Chinese Young Artists Development Fund, theChangchun Art Museum, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Several of his major pieces were selected for the “Star Project – Young Contemporary ArtistsExhibition” and have toured internationally.
