States of Becoming

States of Becoming is a practice-based presentation by visual artist Han Qin in collaboration with the Contemporary Art Practice Lab (CAPL). Set within the domestic and historic architecture of the MEMOR Museum, the exhibition invites visitors into an "unfinished studio" condition where fleeting moments of inspiration leave lasting traces in time and space.

Drawing from a central matrix of cross-media practice, Qin explores themes of migration, identity, and growth. Through a visual language of cyanotype, silk painting, video projection, and installation, the work transposes personal struggles and confusion into a collective experience of warmth and accessibility. Artistic experience here shifts and reconfigures among the museum’s architectural layers, eventually taking form as shared traces and memories.

As a condensed unit of this methodology, the Cyanotype Workshop: Tracing Experience will take place on May 9, inviting participants to transform personal items into imagery and sense the interaction between intention and material.
