This exhibition is part of the Contemporary Artist Promotion Program series launched by Memor Museum in New York. The program primarily recommends creators from China who possess a distinctive personal artistic language and vigorous artistic vitality, systematically presenting their artistic world and journey of linguistic exploration.

As one of the artists promoted, Xie Tian has developed a highly recognizable personal style through long-term, sustained artistic practice. His work is deeply rooted in the Eastern tradition of writing and the spiritual essence of ink art, yet without adhering to established conventions. From the perspective of contemporary artistic concepts, he deconstructs the fixed semantics of Chinese characters, reconstructing the spiritual tension of lines and brushwork. Between traditional rhythm and contemporary aesthetic sensibility, he achieves a conceptual breakthrough with distinctive personal characteristics. His creative media span multiple disciplines, ranging from ink and mixed materials to glass art and multimedia installations. Through transparent and condensed material forms, he transforms the texture of fluid, spiritual time into a perceptible visual field, creating an immersive and powerful body of work.

Having trained as a designer, his daily practice of calligraphy and long-term research on spatial dynamics constitute Xie Tian ‘s unique creative advantages. Rather than deliberately catering to the dichotomous narrative framework of East and West, he relies on immersive self-reflection to forge an expressive path that balances tradition and contemporary practice, two-dimensional surface and space, Eastern resonance and global vision, achieving both balance and innovation.

This exhibition features seven teen representative works from Xie Tian ’s recent years, primarily ink and mixed media works, complemented by two signature glass installations. It traces his creative trajectory and conceptual evolution, using the art of writing as a point of departure and extending from two-dimensional surface to space.
