Artist Biography

Zuo Jin 左晋

Born in 1968 in Hebei, China, Zuo Jin graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 2012, he founded the Canadian Chinese Artists Association, where he serves as President, fostering cultural exchange between China and Canada. He is also Vice President of the Canadian Painting Society and Chief Artist of C9 Gallery.


Zuo’s artistic language bridges realism, abstraction, and his self-developed “Enlightenment” style, exploring profound connections between humanity, nature, and the cosmos. His major works—Mediocrity, Empathy, and Shortsightedness—have garnered international acclaim through exhibitions in NewYork and at the United Nations. His monumental painting The Sea is considered the world’s largest ocean-themed artwork. For his cultural contributions, Zuo was named “Cultural Ambassador for China–Canada Exchange” and awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Canadian Parliament.

1968年出生于河北,毕业于中央美术学院。2012年创立加拿大华人艺术家协会并担任会长,致力于促进中加艺术与文化交流,现任加拿大绘画协会副会长、C9画廊首席艺术家。左晋以其跨越现实主义、抽象主义与“启蒙”风格的多维艺术语言而著称,其作品探讨人类、自然与宇宙之间的深层联系。代表作《平庸》《同理心》《短视》等在纽约、联合国及国际艺术展广受赞誉。他的巨幅作品《海》被认为是世界上最大的海洋主题绘画,并被加拿大政府授予“中加文化交流大使”称号及伊丽莎白二世女王钻禧纪念勋章。
