This niche depicts the splendor of the Western Pure Land—a realm of boundless bliss and no suffering. Rebirth in this Western Paradise was a widely cherished belief in ancient China. The niche contains over 560 sculpted figures and more than 40 architectural elements such as dharma pillars and pavilions, making it one of the most iconographically rich niches in the Dazu Rock Carvings.
刻画西方极乐世界的盛况，该世界有百乐而无一苦。往生西方净土是中国古代广泛流行的一种信仰。龛内刻像560 余尊,经幢、楼阁等建筑40 余座，是大足石刻中造像内容最为丰富的龛窟之一。
