This scene depicts Shakyamuni Buddha entering Parinirvana. The Buddha lies on his right side in a reclining posture, extending 31 meters in length, yet only half of his body is visible—a masterful application of the "suggestion beyond depiction" technique, conveying the immeasurable grandeur of the Buddha.
