胴部は砂鉄で鋳造され、表面は自然な凹凸のある肌合いで、飛鳥や樹木などの模様が点綴され、趣深い。全体の形はふっくらとしており、提梁と蓋のデザインは精巧である。詩情と匠の心に満ちた日本の伝統工芸品である。
