George Washington’s Crossing of the Delaware River 2008–2009 (original model); 2015 (limited edition recast for museum) Bronze | 33 × 50 cm This work depicts the historic moment when General George Washington led the Continental Army across the Delaware River on a freezing night in late 1776—an act that decisively changed the course of the American Revolutionary War. Adapted from Emanuel Leutze’s famous 1851 painting Washington Crossing the Delaware, the sculpture reimagines the scene as a high-relief bronze composition. The small-scale model exhibited here corresponds to the monumental bronze relief (10 ft × 20 ft) installed at the main entrance of the Museum of the American Revolution, unveiled in April 2017.
